Matthew David McConaughey was born on November 4, 1969 in Texas. He is of an Irish ancestry and has a Baptist upbringing.
He began his acting career in 1991 as in a tv commercials, while attending college in University of texas in Austin.
His big break came as the lawyer "Jake Brigance" in the 1996 film A Time to Kill, based on the John Grisham novel of the same name.
